Week 6 — Jesus' Ascension and Glorification

"Because of this, God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name above every other name." —Philippians 2:9

Jump to day: Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat

Sunday

"As He blessed, He left them, and was taken up to heaven. They fell down to do Him reverence, then returned to Jerusalem filled with joy." —Lk 24:51-52

Conversation:

King of kings: I had emptied Myself of glory (Phil 2:7), but now I have returned to My Father.
Subject: Lord, thank You for letting me be in Your presence and even talking to You. You are worthy "to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and praise!" (Rv 5:12) To be subject to You is the greatest privilege possible.

Response:

Submit, bend your knee at the name above all names, Jesus (Phil 2:10).

Monday

"He is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords Who alone has immortality and Who dwells in unapproachable light, Whom no human being has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and everlasting rule! Amen." —1 Tm 6:15-16

Conversation:

Lord of lords: I dwell in unapproachable light, but I've made it possible for you to approach Me. But you must be holy as I am holy (1 Pt 1:16). Receive the Holy Spirit (Jn 20:22).
Subject: Lord, You have rent the veil and made the way for me to enter into the heavenly throne room. I adore You (Mt 27:51).

Response:

Submit, kneel in silence.

Tuesday

"He is the Image of the invisible God, the First-born of all creatures. In Him everything in heaven and on earth was created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominations, principalities or powers; all were created through Him, and for Him." —Col 1:15-16

Conversation:

King Jesus: I am Who am (Ex 3:14; Jn 8:58).
Subject: (Silence)

Response:

Submit, kneel again in silence.

Wednesday

"But Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins and took His seat forever at the right hand of God; now He waits until His enemies are placed beneath His feet." —Heb 10:12-13

Conversation:

King Jesus: You may feel as if you're in a spiritual war. But it's only the aftermath of the war already won. You missed out on the real fighting. Rejoice forever in My victory.
Subject: Lord, You did all this for me before I was born. I didn't do anything. Everything is a gift (Rm 4:16).

Response:

Submit, begin a time of praise with Psalm 100.

Thursday

"No sooner had He said this than He was lifted up before their eyes in a cloud which took Him from their sight." —Acts 1:9

Conversation:

King Jesus: Thursday was the day I ascended and took My seat at the right hand of My Father. When will you come and sit with Me on My throne? (Rv 3:21)
Subject: Lord, You are worthy to be praised (Rv 5:12). Remove any unforgiveness and bitterness which keeps me from praising You. I kneel before Your majesty, prostrate myself, and adore You.

Response:

Submit, read and do Psalm 47.

Friday

"In subjecting all things to Him, God left nothing unsubjected. At present we do not see all things thus subject, but we do see Jesus crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death." —Heb 2:8-9

Conversation:

King Jesus: Child, you must walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7). Appearances and feelings often conceal the reality of My glory (Heb 2:8-9). Fix your eyes on Me seated on the throne (Heb 12:2).
Subject: Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. Bring tears to my eyes. Lord, have mercy. Forgive me.

Response:

Submit, picture Jesus on the cross and on the throne.

Saturday

"Then, after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and took His seat at God's right hand. The Eleven went forth and preached everywhere." —Mk 16:19-20

Conversation:

King Jesus: Go to My brothers and sisters to tell them I have ascended to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God (Jn 20:17).
Subject: Jesus, by Your grace motivate me to go tell everyone about You. Fill me with Your gifts (Eph 4:10). May I die if necessary to give Your message to the world.

Response:

Submit, pray that Mass this Sunday be a launching pad, shooting you into the world to tell the good news.
