nothing but the very best

Jesus "has obtained so much more excellent a ministry as He is Mediator of a better covenant, enacted on better promises." —Hebrews 8:6

Most people in life want the best. They want the best education and the best lifestyle possible. They want their team, pizza, and beer to be the best. We use such phrases as "nothing but the best," "the best that money can buy," and "making the best of a situation."

If you really want the best, you want the Best of the best, Jesus. His priesthood, covenant, and promises are not only better, but the best (Heb 8:6). If you haven't given your life to Jesus, your life is far from the best and is on the path to being the worst. The best thing you can do in life is to ask Jesus to take over your life and be your Lord, Savior, and God.

Because Jesus is the Best, He deserves the best — our best. Make your life for Jesus of the highest quality by loving Him with the deepest love. Don't spend most of your time, resources, and energy on yourself, and then give Jesus the rest. Give Jesus your "all" (Mt 13:46) and your best, for the Best deserves your best.

Prayer:  Father, You're the greatest. You're the best. You are Love. I love You with all my heart.

Promise:  "He appointed twelve [whom He also named apostles] that they might be with Him and He might send them forth to preach and to have authority to drive out demons." —Mk 3:14-15

Praise:  St. Francis wrote: "It is...a heresy to wish to exclude the exercise of devotion...from family households."
