who?

"Who are you?" —John 1:19

If you don't know who you are, then you won't know who is the liar (see 1 Jn 2:22). If you don't know who is the liar, then you will be deceived, manipulated, and possibly even damned. Therefore, you must know who you are.

However, you will never know who you are unless Jesus tells you who you are. But He will not tell who you are until you tell Him Who He is (see Mt 16:16-18). You can only tell Jesus Who He is when the heavenly Father reveals Jesus' identity to you (Mt 16:17).

God the Father wants to give you a Christmas present of knowing and loving Jesus. This will make it possible for you to know yourself, know who is the liar, and know eternal life. The Lord says: "My people perish for want of knowledge!" (Hos 4:6) "Eternal life is this: to know You, the only true God, and Him Whom You have sent, Jesus Christ" (Jn 17:3). This Christmas, receive the Father's revelation of Christ.

Prayer:  Father, show me Jesus.

Promise:  "Remain in Him now, little ones, so that, when He reveals Himself, we may be fully confident and not retreat in shame at His coming." —1 Jn 2:28

Praise:  St. Gregory, a Doctor of the Church, so strongly defended the faith and the Nicean Creed that he was called "The Theologian."
