Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Praise be Jesus, our Lord and Savior! Thanks be to God for your growth in holiness as you pray and live the Mass and the Scriptures. We at Presentation Ministries are privileged to be part of your life and love in the Lord through our ministries, especially One Bread, One Body (OBOB). Thank you for praying for us, distributing OBOB, and contributing financially. Your obedience to the Holy Spirit makes it possible for thousands of people to receive God's Word.
In Mt 19:16, Jesus was asked by a young man, "Teacher, what good must I do to possess eternal life?" This may be a question you have asked yourself. In Mt 19:17, Jesus tells him and us to "keep the commandments." This young man had the insight to know that even though he kept the commandments, he still lacked something. In the gospel, Jesus called him and is calling us to give up our lives for God and "follow Me" (Mt 19:21). Are you bearing your cross for the sake of Jesus and following Him? Jesus tells us: "Anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me, cannot be My disciple" (Lk 14:27).
It seems that it is not enough to just keep the commandments. We have to follow Jesus and change our lives by turning away from the evils of this world for the sake of God. Jesus is calling us "to make disciples of all nations" and to do that, it takes the sacrifice of giving our lives to Jesus. Lent is our chance to "get in shape" by sacrificing our lives to God. Jesus said that we will receive power from the Holy Spirit and become witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
It is our mission at Presentation Ministries to help you, our brothers and sisters in Jesus, to obtain a closer relationship with Jesus through the Word and through frequent use of the sacraments. In addition, we want to equip you to be true disciples of Jesus through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We encourage you to participate in our retreats and our ministries listed on our website www.presentationministries.com. Let the Holy Spirit work in you and through you.
Thanks to you for all that you do for Jesus and His Church.
Your brothers and sister in Jesus.
