be a great jubilarian

"What is it you want?" —Matthew 20:21

For this year to be truly the Great Jubilee, we need families, like Zebedee's family, to come to Jesus (Mt 20:20). Moreover, we need the fathers to lead their families in prayer (see 1 Tm 2:8) and not be absent. We need mothers praying for their children to receive what God wants, not what the children or the mothers want (see Mt 20:21ff).

To have the Great Jubilee, we need leaders who aspire "to greatness" (Mt 20:26) by coming to serve rather than be served (Mt 20:28).

To have the Great Jubilee, we need people who will drink the cup of Jesus' suffering by living lives of sacrifice (see Mt 20:22ff).

For this year to be truly the Great Jubilee, we need prayer (especially family prayer), leadership (especially male leadership), and lives of sacrifice (especially in living our major vocations to married life, the lay single life, or the religious life).

Therefore, take up your cross daily. Be your part in the body of Christ — no matter what it takes. Be a Great Jubilarian.

Prayer:  Father, from this Lent on, may sacrifice be the fabric of my life.

Promise:  "Remember that I stood before You to speak in their behalf, to turn away Your wrath from them." —Jer 18:20

Praise:  Relying upon the power of God's word, frequent confession, and daily Communion, Stan is being victorious over a habitual, recurring sin. "Not by an army, not by might, but by My Spirit, says the Lord" (Zec 4:6).
