I LOVE YOU, MOM

"Therefore the Lord will give them up, until the time when she who is to give birth has borne." —Micah 5:2

God chose Mary to be the instrument of Jesus' incarnation (Mt 1:20). She was at the foot of the cross (Jn 19:25). She interceded in the upper room (Acts 1:14). From Cana to Calvary, she was there for the greatest workings of God's plan of salvation.

"When the designated time had come, God sent forth His Son born of a woman" (Gal 4:4). God could have done it another way, but decided to work through Mary. He still chooses to include Mary in His wondrous works. For this reason, we call her the mediatrix of all graces. Do not confuse this with Jesus, the one and only Mediator with the Father (1 Tm 2:5). When we call her "mediatrix," we are simply saying that God includes her in all His works.

Since she has shared so many precious moments with us, was always there when we needed her, and mothers us in obedience to her Son, we feel close to her. We thank God for Mary — for her faithfulness, obedience, and intercession. We love you, Mom. Happy birthday!

Prayer: Lord, thank You for all the people You've brought into my life, especially Mary.
Promise: "He shall stand firm and shepherd His flock by the strength of the Lord, in the majestic name of the Lord, His God; and they shall remain, for now His greatness shall reach to the ends of the earth; He shall be Peace." —Mi 5:3-4
Praise: Alleluia! Jesus became a human being in the womb of Mary. Praise the Lord for His loving-kindness. Alleluia!
