TIME BOMB

"Jesus answered him, 'Whoever puts his hand to the plow but keeps looking back is unfit for the reign of God.' " —Luke 9:62

Your time is as important as the Pope's or the President's. Your time is important not because of who you are in the world's eyes but because of who you are in Christ. You are a son or daughter of the heavenly Father, a temple of the Holy Spirit, and a disciple of the Lord Jesus. It is impossible for you to be any more important. Your time cannot mean any more; however, you must realize this.

Since you and your time are so important, you must not delay in responding to Jesus' call. Every second counts. We can't take the time to bury our fathers or take leave of our families (Lk 9:60-61). Jesus wants all our time, all our nows.  If Jesus is not Lord of all, He's not Lord at all. If He isn't Lord of all your time, He's not Lord of you.

The present time is the way to the end of time, to eternity. Time is of the essence. "There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair" (Eccl 3:1). "When the designated time had come, God sent forth His Son" (Gal 4:4). "Now is the acceptable time! Now is the day of salvation!" (2 Cor 6:2)

Prayer: Father, I repent of wasting Your time with unimportant things, especially TV.
Promise: "The king granted my requests, for the favoring hand of my God was upon me." —Neh 2:8
Praise: St. Wenceslaus used his time as duke to work for the religious and educational needs of his subjects.
