Last year was the Great Jubilee. However, some Catholics have been known to be late. But "better late than never." If you did not have the Great Jubilee last year, repent, give your life totally to Jesus, change your life and lifestyle according to His will, cry out for His mercy, and receive the Great Jubilee.
Even if you had the Great Jubilee, Jesus has announced that He has made it possible for every year to be a Jubilee Year (Lk 4:18-19). You can have another Jubilee Year, not by repeating last year, but by using it as a stepping stone into even greater glory (see 2 Cor 3:18).
By faith, we can receive the Jubilee Year. The Lord calls us to express our faith in Him in many ways. One very important way is to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, to go to Confession.
St. John Vianney, whose feast day we celebrate today, had one of the greatest ministries of Reconciliation (see 2 Cor 5:18) in the history of the Church. Therefore, today is an even more appropriate day to express our faith in Jesus by confessing our sins and thereby opening the door to another Jubilee. St. John Vianney, pray for us to confess our sins and live in Jubilee forever.
