THE MOST EJECTED

 
"They begged Him (Jesus) to leave their neighborhood." —Matthew 8:34
 

Jesus was thrown out of town. That wasn't the last time. He's been repeatedly thrown out of nations (e.g. China). He's been thrown out of schools in which it is illegal to communicate with Him publicly. Jesus has been thrown out of medical institutions because He didn't agree with abortion and contraception. Jesus has been thrown out of businesses because He puts people ahead of profits. For the same reason, He's been thrown out of most of the media. Jesus has been thrown out of countless marriages, families, and lives. Jesus is the most ejected and rejected Person Who has ever lived.

When a person is rejected as much as Jesus is, our natural reaction is to stay away from Him so that we will not also be rejected by association. Thus, all His apostles ran away from Him before Jesus suffered the ultimate rejection on Calvary (Mk 14:50). Few were at the foot of the cross (see Jn 19:25). Nevertheless, in love, let us draw near to the ejected, rejected, crucified Christ. "Let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing the insult which He bore" (Heb 13:13).

May any enemy of Jesus be an enemy of ours. May we decide to be rejected with Him rather than accepted without Him.

 
Prayer: Father, may the USA repent and invite Jesus back into its institutions.
Promise: "God was with the boy as he grew up." —Gn 21:20
Praise: St. Elizabeth's last peacemaking mission cost Elizabeth her health and her life.
