THE HANDS OF THE GOD-MAN

"Suddenly, opposite the lampstand, the fingers of a human hand appeared." —Daniel 5:5

The Lord announces: "See, upon the palms of My hands I have written your name" (Is 49:16). This is an indication that the Lord loves us and will never forget us (Is 49:15). However, if we refuse to accept His love, the Lord will call us to repentance, as He "day and night" lays His hand heavy upon us (Ps 32:4). He may even send a bodyless hand to write on the walls of our hearts and lives (Dn 5:5). The Lord is so intent on our repentance and reception of His love that He sent Jesus to have His hands nailed to a cross and die for love of us. Eventually, if we live and die in the Lord, we will live with Him forever, for "the souls of the just are in the hand of God" (Wis 3:1).

Lift up your hands to the Lord (see Ps 134:2). Put your hand into His nail-scarred hands. Accept His love.

Prayer: Father, anoint my hands to serve You zealously.
Promise: "By patient endurance you will save your lives." —Lk 21:19
Praise: Scott and Timothy founded their business with Jesus Christ as the Cornerstone. Despite the advice of potential investors, they continue to operate in a proudly Christian company.
