"To restore all things in Christ" St. Pius X
We live in an anti-Christian "culture of death." However, the Christian people have transformed evil cultures many times throughout the last two thousand years. Jesus promises that He will give us the love, faith, and power to be the light of the world, the salt of the earth, and the leaven of renewal (see Mt 5:13-14, 13:33). Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II have strongly called lay Christians to take the initiative to permeate with the Gospel the secular culture of politics, business, medicine, mass media, entertainment, etc. (The Lay Members of Christ's Faithful People, 23). The Church calls us to discover or invent the means of permeating secular culture with the Gospel (The Catechism of the Catholic Church, 899). It is obviously impossible to do this with human power, but "nothing is impossible with God" (Lk 1:37).
This newspaper is proclaiming the miracle of de-secularization and re-Christianization. This newspaper is part of what Pope John Paul II calls "new evangelization." My People provides not so much information as formation on displacing and overcoming the giant of the culture of death. We see My People as prophetic and on the cutting edge of the Holy Spirit's renewal of the face of the earth (Ps 104:30).
