WEEKEND & WEEKDAY SEMINARS

WEEKEND SEMINARS

FAITH AND FREEDOM IN CHRIST

In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus quotes from Isaiah 61,"The spirit of the Lord is upon me; therefore He has anointed me, He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives..." When our knowledge of Christ is limited and uncertain, we cannot operate in the full power of His Holy Spirit. This Scripture in Luke is said to be the mission statement of Jesus and so our mission statement also. How many people do we know that are suffering by being trapped in hopeless situations or being poor in their experience of the love of God?

Jesse Romero will share the fullness of Christ and thereby enable us to "give the gift that we have received." Plan to come and hear Jesse speak of Him for Whom our hearts are longing!

JESUS, THE BREASTPLATE OF OUR FAITH

"Stand fast with truth as the belt around your waist, justice as your breastplate..." (Eph 6:14) Jesus is the truth, He is our justice, and He is the very breastplate that protects us from all the evils that surround us. "Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the desires of the flesh." (Rom 13:14) Stand up for Christ! Get rid of all fear, apathy, and indifference. Don't apologize for your faith. Step into a new relationship with Jesus that will enable you to defend Him to others with knowledge and boldness. Many are hungering and thirsting for the very thing that you take for granted. Come and listen to Deacon Ralph Poyo and his powerful testimony to Christ.

This seminar requires two days — Mon, July 29 and Tues, July 30.

DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Are you looking for solutions to the problems and chaos that surround us? Christ left us with the resources to fight and build a different civilization — one of love and life — not of death and disaster. Thirty spiritual gifts are mentioned in the Scriptures — gifts like healing, hospitality, and discernment. Open your eyes to the spiritual realities of God's Kingdom! "Set your hearts on spiritual gifts" (1 Cor 14:1). This seminar requires two days — Thurs, Aug 1 and Fri, Aug 2.

OLD TESTAMENT HISTORICAL BOOKS: OUR SALVATION HISTORY

TO HEAL AS JESUS HEALS
We ourselves, our families, neighborhoods, workplaces, and parishes are in need of healing and freedom in Jesus. Is the Holy Spirit calling you to minister His healing to those who are ill, hurt, and brokenhearted? "The sick upon whom they lay their hands will recover" (Mk 16:18). This seminar requires two days — Thurs, Aug 1 and Fri, Aug 2.

ONE-DAY SEMINARS

Bring Your Bible

Don't forget to bring your Bible and a notebook!

FACING REALITY: LIVING IN THE TRUTH
God has given us His Holy Spirit who teaches us "describing spiritual realities in spiritual terms" (1 Cor 2:13). Learn how to face reality and open the door to God's plan. The key is in knowing and facing reality — not escaping from it. This seminar requires one day — Mon, July 29.

THE GIFT OF HOSPITALITY
By opening your heart, your home, and your life to others, you will serve Jesus Himself. The Lord uses us and our homes to touch and heal those who are hurting and need a place of refreshment and peace. "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me..." This seminar requires one day — Mon, July 29.

USING THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS IN EVERYDAY LIFE
The more than thirty spiritual gifts granted us by the Holy Spirit are to be used in very practical ways. The people around us can be touched by the Lord when we use His gifts to serve them. Come to hear how others are using these gifts to make a difference in their communities. This seminar requires one day — Mon, July 29.

ACTS OF THE APOSTLES: LIVING THE FAITH
The book of Acts is often overlooked when we study Scripture for inspiration. In fact, it is very enlightening to see the way that the apostles and early followers operated in the power of the Holy Spirit to establish the day-to-day community life in the early Church. Much insight is to be gained for today's world. This seminar requires one day — Tues, July 30.

THE GIFT OF ADMINISTRATION
Much of the Lord's plans are not being accomplished because of the lack of administrators. Is the Lord calling you to this task? Learn more about this vital gift which is the key to all effective ministry. This seminar requires one day —Tues, July 30.

MARY'S BEATITUDES
Fr. Rob Jack will present this day. Many associate the Beatitudes only with Jesus. However, St. Luke calls Mary "Blessed." If blessedness is our goal, then it is important for every Christian to look to the Mother of God for the path to the Blessed life in Jesus Christ. This seminar requires one day — Tues, July 30.

DOCTORS OF THE CHURCH: ST. AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO
St Augustine is one of the Doctors of the Church, and perhaps the most significant Christian thinker after St. Paul. Augustine's adaptation of classical thought to Christian teaching created a theological system of great power and lasting influence. This seminar requires one day — Wed, July 31.

MARY, CHOSEN OF THE FATHER
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you" (Jer 1:5). From all eternity the Father chose Mary and prepared her to be mother of His Son and Spouse of the Holy Spirit. From the book of Genesis throughout the Scriptures, she was uniquely endowed with gifts appropriate for her role. This seminar requires one day — Wed, July 31.

SEEK PROPHECY FOR YOUR LIFE
How do you recognize the Lord's voice in the midst of the noise and lies of our culture? God does speak to us very clearly if we have the spiritual ears to hear and the wise hearts to understand. This seminar requires one day — Wed, July 31.

UNFORGIVENESS IS THE CAUSE
Unforgiveness is the cause of so much brokenness and unhappiness in our lives. Learn how to unlock the miracle of forgiveness and mercy for yourselves and your loved ones. This seminar requires one day — Wed, July 31.

THE GIFT OF INTERCESSION
Pope John Paul II said that "prayer and fasting are the first and most effective weapons against the forces of evil" (Gospel of Life, 100). Learn how to be a prayer warrior in the army of Christ. "The fervent prayer of a holy person is powerful indeed" (Jas 5:16). This seminar requires one day — Thurs, August 1.

THE PROPHETIC VISION FOR MARRIAGE
How does God plan to use your marriage to bring about the kingdom of God? Marriage is so much more than we have been led to believe. Hear the Lord's vision for your marriage. If you are engaged or married — even for many years, you will be delighted to understand the fullness that awaits those who put their marriages into God's hands. This seminar requires one day — Thurs, Aug 1.

GETTING TO KNOW THE GUADALUPE BIBLE COLLEGE
"Live according to what you have learned and accepted..."(Phil 4:9) This program is for those interested in learning more about being either a student or teacher (home study or classroom) for Guadalupe Bible College. This seminar requires one day — Fri, Aug 2.

CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: A WAY OF LIFE
Community is one of the most misunderstood facets of Christianity — while at the same time being the vehicle that brings power and enthusiasm to the faith. Make your home a lighthouse for Christ! This seminar requires one day — Fri, Aug 2.

LIVING IN HOPE: FIGHTING FOR LIFE AND LIBERTY
As Catholics and Christians we are surrounded by Satan's lies and lifestyle. However, the Lord has provided truth and clarity for us through His Church and His Word. Don't be deceived by the falsehoods put forth by the enemies of our faith. Stand firm and face the challenges before us with courage and strength. This seminar requires one day — Fri, Aug 2.

MODELING THE HOLY FAMILY
Do you want healing for your family but are unsure about how to receive it? Come to hear about the Lord's provision for your family to receive healing and wholeness. This seminar requires one day — Fri, Aug 2.

YOUTH SEMINAR: LIVING BY FAITH
Deacon Ralph Poyo will present a day centered on living by genuine faith as shown by looking at the lives of the Patriarchs. For example, Abraham was a great man of faith which is still a blessing to us today. Deacon Ralph will point out the choice to be made. There are two paths ahead -- which path will you take? Will you leave the world behind or will you give in to Satan's plan for your life? The day will include music, praise, worship, group activities and discussion. This program is offered on Friday, August 2 and is for ages 13 to 19.

NOTE: All youth must be pre-registered; No walk-ins will be accepted. A separate registration form is needed for each attendee and chaperone must be listed. More Details

WORSHIP

The spirit of worship at the Bible Institute is an important part of the nine days. Bill Richart, and Angie Myer and Friends will be among those who will lead us in worship. Also, our very gifted Presentation Music Ministry provides worship and praise at our liturgies. Many gifted and dedicated people are a part of this ministry — including Paul Egan, Marianne Lander, Dave Willig and Nathanael Egan. Younger members of Presentation continue to come forward in service to the Lord through music and worship. The Holy Spirit's gifts are used in amazing ways to bring us into worship and an awareness of the Lord's presence.
