The Eucharist: Food for the Journey
In our new covenant journey, Jesus is ever present to
us in the Eucharist as our traveling companion. Christ
has given us the mass as a means to take part in His
sacrifice on the cross. As we are fed at His table, we are
healed, made whole, and holy.
The Eucharist is a foretaste of heaven and a pledge of
life eternal. Come to hear Father Bill McCarthy as he
speaks about this healing sacrament of mystery and grace.
This weekend seminar begins Friday evening July 23,
continues through all day Saturday, and ends Sunday morning.

Divine Mercy: A Way of Life
The essence of forgiveness by God's standards is the
giving of mercy. Mercy means to treat others better than
they deserve. In the Old Testament, the gold plate over the ark
of the covenant was called the "mercy-seat." Here
Yahweh sat in all His mercy.
The New Testament fulfillment of the "mercy-seat" is
the tabernacle where the Eucharistic Jesus is present to
dispense His mercy. How can we learn to live mercy in
our daily lives? How can we bring Christ and His mercy to
a hurting world?
Come and hear Dr. Bryan Thatcher as he shares
the powerful message of mercy and hope that the Lord
wishes to pour out on us.
- Saturday, July 31
- 9:00 AM through 4:45 PM
Eucharistic Liturgy at 10:15 AM
7:30 PM Closing Eucharistic Liturgy

TWO-DAY SEMINARS
Bible Timeline: Journey Through the Scriptures
A study of Salvation History beginning with
Creation and ending with Jesus and His Church will
be offered in this two-day workshop. As you plot your individual timeline, you will gain an
overall picture of God's design as outlined in the
Bible. This seminar requires two days Mon, Jul
26 and Tues, Jul 27.
The Holy Spirit, Prophesy and Renewal
This new seminar on prophecy focuses on Scriptural models to bring
about renewal in ourselves, our families, and our parishes. Come and receive
the fire of the Holy Spirit! "1 have come to set the earth on fire, and
how 1 wish it were already blazing!" (Lk 12:49) This seminar requires
two days — Mon, Jul 26 and Tues, Jul 27.
Life in the Spirit Seminar
Is God calling you to a new depth in your relationship with Christ in the power
of the Spirit? Are you searching for something more? Do you have a thirst that
has not been satisfied? Come and receive all God wants to give you, "You
will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes down on you..."(Acts 1:8)
This seminar requires two days — Mon, Jul 26 and Tues, Jul 27.
Biblical Leadership: A Gift for Today
The Holy Spirit in the Scripture provides instruction for growth in holiness
and discipleship as well as many models of Biblical leadership. Many ministries
are floundering because leaders do not answer God's call to serve in the kingdom.
"You have known the sacred Scriptures, the source of the wisdom which through
faith in Jesus Christ leads to salvation" (2 Tm 3:15). This seminar
requires two days Wed, Jul 28 and Thurs, Jul 29.
Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts
Do you know your spiritual gifts? Have you wondered how the Lord wants you
to use them? The Scripture identifies at least thirty gifts or charisms available
to us in the power of the Holy Spirit. This program will give you the knowledge
and practical tools to identify your own gifts and those of others. "Set
your hearts on spiritual gifts" (1 Cor 14:1). This seminar requires
two days Wed, Jul 28 and Thurs, Jul 29.
The Gift of Prayer in the Christian Life
A prayer life is essential in order to live a fully Christian life
open to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Come to learn the
many resources that we, as Catholics, have at our fingertips the
Bible, the Catechism, the writings of the Saints, and the prayer of
the Church. "Rejoice in hope, be patient under trial, persevere in
prayer" (Rm 12:12). This seminar requires two days Wed, Jul 28
and Thurs, Jul 29.
Holiness: God's Lifestyle for Us
The Holy Spirit wants to lead us into a new life-style of
holiness. Matthew 6:33 tells us that if we seek the Lord's way of holiness,
He will then supply all our other needs. This two-day seminar offers
the resources, opportunities, and encouragement to move forward.
"God chose us in Him, before the world began, to be holy
and blameless in His sight, to be full of love" (Eph
1:4). This seminar requires two days Thurs, July 29 and Fri, July 30.
Psalms: A Book of Prayer, Praise and Power
A psalm is the cry of real people in real-life situations. The
writers of the Psalms cried out to God in very human conversation
in praise and supplication in times of joy and distress. Look to
this book to gain understanding of how to recognize the movement
of the Spirit and to respond with heartfelt prayer. "I will praise
you, Lord, with all my heart" (Ps 9:2). This seminar requires two
days Thurs, July 29 and Fri, July 30.
ONE-DAY SEMINARS
Using the Charisms for Service
Spiritual gifts that we hear little about are the gifts of mercy,
service, hospitality, and helps. Yet, many ministries would flounder without
them. Rich and Daneen Gosser will bring to this seminar
their experience of the use of these gifts in practical ways. "Put your
gifts at the service of one another" (1 Pt
4:10). This seminar requires one day Mon, July 26.
The Rosary: Light for Our Times
The Rosary is the simple but profound prayer centered on
Christ as seen through the eyes of Mary, His mother. This
beautiful prayer will be brought to life as we focus on Christ and
especially the new mysteries of light. Pope John Paul II tells us that the
Rosary is a splendid form of prayer "which gradually took form in
the second millennium under the guidance of the Spirit of God."
Come and learn more about this spiritual powerhouse.
This seminar requires one day Tues, July 27.
O Mary, Conceived Without Sin
In celebration of the 150 year anniversary of the dogma of
the Immaculate Conception, this seminar will be dedicated to
Mary under that title. As Mary's children, we seek to emulate her
by growing in holiness. Come and hear Father Rob Jack as he
reveals the richness of this relationship with Mary, our Mother.
This seminar requires one day Wed, Jul 28.
How to be a Holy Defender of the Faith
Come and learn how to defend some of the basic beliefs of our faith. This
one-day foundational seminar takes a look at the truths of our Catholic faith
that are often misunderstood. "Should anyone ask you the reason for this
hope of yours, be ever ready to reply" (1 Pt 3:15). This seminar requires
one day Thurs, July 29.
Discover the Immense Power of God's Word
Discover for yourself the great power of the Scriptures. Learn
how to read, pray, and live in the light of God's Word. As we get
into the Bible, the Bible gets into us. "Indeed, God's Word is living
and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword" (Heb
4:12). This seminar requires one day Fri, Jul 30.
Getting to Know the Guadalupe Bible College
"Live according to what you have learned and accepted..."(Phil
4:9) This program is for those interested in learning more about being either
a student or teacher (home study or classroom) for Guadalupe Bible College.
This seminar requires one day — Fri, July 30.
The Gift of Intercession
Pope John Paul II has said that "prayer and fasting are the first and
most effective weapons against the forces of evil" (Gospel of Life,
100). Learn how to be a prayer warrior in the army of Christ through the
power of the Holy Spirit. "The fervent prayer of a holy person is powerful
indeed" (Jas 5:16). This seminar requires one day Fri,
July 30.
The Laity: The Real Evangelizers
The laity are on the front lines of our secularized society.
Learn how to fulfill your calling from the Lord to bring light to
the darkness by sharing the gospel of Christ. "But you are a
chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation..." (1 Pt 2:9).
This seminar requires one day Fri, Jul 30.
Rebuild the House of the Lord
The Lord wants us to rebuild His house, His bride, His Church. This one-day
seminar is designed to enable you to focus on Jesus as you serve in your parish.
As Catholics we have rich resources to call upon as well as the powerful action
of the Holy Spirit through the sacraments and the liturgy. "How deep are
the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God!" (Rm 11:33). This
seminar requires one day Fri,
July 30.

WORSHIP
Worship
is an important and integral part of the Bible Institute. Some of those who will
lead us in worship include Presentation's Music Ministry, which is made up of
many gifted and dedicated people. Paul Egan, Marianne Lander, John Egan, and
Rick Nohle along with others, have led the music in past years. The Holy Spirit's
anointing for leading worship through music is falling on
Presentation's younger members under the leadership of Elizabeth Egan. The Lord
uses them to bring us into a spirit of praise and worship at our liturgies.
KENNY SMITH'S PEACE AND SERENITY MINISTRIES
A very special evening is planned for Sunday, July 25. Members of Kenny Smith's
Peace and Serenity Ministries will be featured at the evening general session of
the Bible Institute. This choir has over thirty gifted members and they are a
multi-cultural and inter-denominational ministry with members from age 12 to 87.
They are tremendously gifted performers and are a delight to the listener. This
general session will take place in Kelly Hall in the Alter Building at 7:30 PM.
