Jesus, the Light that Overcomes the Darkness
Johnnette Benkovic will speak about the light of Christ with its power to overcome
the darkness of our world and culture. Even as we are surrounded by the darkness
of sin and death, we look to Jesus as our firm hope. He brings the light of
truth into our lives, families, neighborhoods and finally to a world weary with
its burden of deceit, lies, and half-truths.
Come and hear Johnnette as she probes the Scriptures in order
to impart the life-giving message of Jesus to all who will listen. In the power
of the Holy Spirit, Johnnette brings her own special gifts of enthusiasm and
spiritual insight to the Lord's Word and His wish to heal and empower us.

Wade as he explores its awe-inspiring focus on Christ and especially the new
luminous mysteries (Mysteries of Light).
The simple, but profound prayer of the Rosary has at its depths
the Gospel message. The Holy Father speaks of gazing on the face of Christ in

gifts in dedication of his life to Christ. He is writing the story of his extraordinary
4,200-mile walk across America carrying a six foot cross. His wife says she
intends to hold her energetic husband to his computer keyboard until he finishes
telling how he wore out 14 pairs of shoes and himself on an 18-month long journey
of prayer and evangelization from St. Augustine, Florida to Sonoma, California.
Jim is a big man with a big heart and his message to young people is as unique
as he is! Come to catch the excitement of the good news and to hear his challenge
to discipleship.

about renewal in ourselves, our families, and our parishes. Come and receive
the fire of the Holy Spirit! "1 have come to set the earth on fire, and
how 1 wish it were already blazing!" (Lk 12:49) This seminar requires
two days — Mon, Jul 28 and Tues, Jul 29.

of the Spirit? Are you searching for something more? Do you have a thirst that
has not been satisfied? Come and receive all God wants to give you, "You
will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes down on you..."(Acts 1:8)
This seminar requires two days — Mon, Jul 28 and Tues, Jul 29.
Small Christian Communities to Change the World
Before He left the earth, Jesus initiated His plan of spreading the Gospel
by using the home as the basis for evangelization. Learn how to dedicate your
home to the Lord's service in building the kingdom. "They devoted themselves
to the apostles' instruction and the communal life, to the breaking of bread
and the prayers" (Acts 2:42). This seminar requires two days
Mon, Jul 28 and Tues, Jul 29.
Biblical Leadership: A Gift for Today
The Holy Spirit in the Scripture provides instruction for growth in holiness
and discipleship as well as many models of Biblical leadership. Many ministries
are floundering because leaders do not answer God's call to serve in the kingdom.
"You have known the sacred Scriptures, the source of the wisdom which through
faith in Jesus Christ leads to salvation" (2 Tm 3:15). This seminar
requires two days Wed, Jul 30 and Thurs, Jul 31.
Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts
Do you know your spiritual gifts? Have you wondered how the Lord wants you
to use them? The Scripture identifies at least thirty gifts or charisms available
to us in the power of the Holy Spirit. This program will give you the knowledge
and practical tools to identify your own gifts and those of others. "Set
your hearts on spiritual gifts" (1 Cor 14:1). This seminar requires
two days Wed, Jul 30 and Thurs, Jul 31.
Everyday Evangelization
This exciting new seminar will provide both the inspiration and the practical
tools needed to reach out and share Christ and His message to those around you.
Come to learn the dynamics of building a structure that will allow the Holy
Spirit to bring about the civilization of love. "The paraclete, the Holy
Spirit ... will instruct you in everything" (Jn 14:26). This
seminar requires two days Wed, Jul 30 and Thurs, Jul 31
ONE-DAY SEMINARS
Starting and Growing in Home-Schooling
Is home-schooling a feasible option for you and your family? Do you have
the knowledge and the gifts to teach your children? God has created parents
to be the primary educators of their children and so He has given them the gifts
to succeed in this calling . Come and hear other parents who are teaching their
children from birth through high school. "Train a child in the way he should
go, and when he is old he will not turn from it" (Prv 22:6). This
seminar requires one day Thurs, Jul 31.
Discernment in a Culture of Death
Surrounded by Satan's lies, how can we distinguish between the things of
God and the deceit of the evil spirit? The gift of discernment is greatly needed
in our time. This seminar will equip you to tell whether something is of the
Holy Spirit, the evil spirit, or the human spirit. "When He comes, however,
being the Spirit of truth, He will guide you to all truth" (Jn 16:13).
This seminar requires one day Fri, Aug 1.
Family Life in Christ
Would you like to spend time with your children in an environment of encouragement
and sharing? This day is designed for parents, children (ages 6 & up), and
teens. The day begins at 10:15 AM at the Holy Spirit Center and will offer several
sessions including a break for lunch. It will be a time to come together with
family members. Activities are planned for the day that will be appropriate
for inter-generational prayer and sharing (including families, members of home-based
communities, etc.).
The afternoon will include breakout sessions for teens that will be planned
by a team of dedicated young people who are living the Gospel message. "As
for me and my household, we will serve the Lord" (Jos 24:15). This
seminar is offered on Fri, Aug 1.
Getting to Know the Guadalupe Bible College

4:9) This program is for those interested in learning more about being either
a student or teacher (home study or classroom) for Guadalupe Bible College.
This seminar requires one day Fri, Aug 1.
The Gift of Intercession
Pope John Paul II has said that "prayer and fasting are the first and
most effective weapons against the forces of evil" (Gospel of Life,
100). Learn how to be a prayer warrior in the army of Christ through the
power of the Holy Spirit. "The fervent prayer of a holy person is powerful
indeed" (Jas 5:16). This seminar requires one day Fri, Aug
1.
How to be a Holy Defender of the Faith
Come and learn how to defend some of the basic beliefs of our faith. This
one-day foundational seminar takes a look at the truths of our Catholic faith
that are often misunderstood. "Should anyone ask you the reason for this
hope of yours, be ever ready to reply" (1 Pt 3:15). This seminar requires
one day Fri, Aug 1.
Rebuild the House of the Lord
The Lord wants us to rebuild His house, His bride, His Church. This one-day
seminar is designed to enable you to focus on Jesus as you serve in your parish.
As Catholics we have rich resources to call upon as well as the powerful action
of the Holy Spirit through the sacraments and the liturgy. "How deep are
the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God!" (Rm 11:33). This
seminar requires one day Fri, Aug 1.
Who am I in Christ?
God calls each of us to serve Him throughout the many seasons of our life.
There may be a time when we are called to be single for the Lord, married, parenting,
or widowed. We might also be called to a vocation at work or to serve the Lord
in a new way when we retire. By understanding the various callings, we can identify
God's plan for ourselves and those around us. We must pray "... the life
I live now is not my own; Christ is living in me" (Gal 2:20). This seminar
requires one day Fri, Aug 1.
